The dates of September 1-2, 2023, will forever be a historic moment for the Chemistry Bachelor Program at Diponegoro University (Undip). On those two days, a team of assessors from LAMSAMA (Independent Accreditation Institution for Science and Mathematics) conducted a field assessment of the quality of education and facilities in this program. The assessment team, composed of two prominent professors in the field of Chemistry, Prof. Venty Suryanti, S.Si., M.Phil., Ph.D. from Sebelas Maret University (UNS), and Prof. Dr. Didik Prasetyoko, M.Sc. from the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), brought extensive experience and knowledge to evaluate this program.
This assessment activity was warmly welcomed by the program’s leadership and the faculty. Prof. Dr. Widowati, S.Si., M.Si., as the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, along with Prof. Adi Darmawan, Ph.D., as the Chair of the Department of Chemistry at Undip, served as gracious hosts for the assessment team. They greeted the assessors with great enthusiasm, demonstrating a strong commitment to improving the quality of education in the S1 Chemistry Program at Undip.
The assessment covered various aspects, from the program’s vision and mission to its facilities and the supportive academic environment. Classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and other facilities were examined carefully to ensure that they met the high standards necessary to support the teaching and research processes in this program.
Furthermore, this assessment also involved interactions with various stakeholders. The assessment team had the opportunity to speak with alumni, alumni users, faculty members, educational staff, and students. This was a crucial step in evaluating how well the program has met the expectations and needs of the various parties involved in Chemistry education at Undip.
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all stakeholders and parties involved in this accreditation assessment activity over the course of two days. Without their cooperation and dedication, this positive achievement would not have been possible. Everyone played an active role in supporting efforts to enhance the quality of education in the S1 Chemistry Program at Undip.
With the spirit of “Kimia Undip Jaya!” (Chemistry at Undip Triumphs!), we hope that the results of this assessment will serve as a foundation for further improvements and that the S1 Chemistry Program at Undip will continue to be a center of excellence in Chemistry education and research. Success always to the S1 Chemistry Program at Undip!
