The Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Diponegoro University, in collaboration with PT Buchi Indonesia, is set to organize a training program entitled “Bridging Fundamentals and Innovation in Preparative Chromatography” on June 17–18, 2025.
This program will be attended by 45 participants, consisting of lecturers and final-year undergraduate students from the Chemistry Study Program at FSM UNDIP. The event aims to broaden participants’ understanding of preparative chromatography applications in natural product research, while also supporting the enhancement of laboratory practicum and academic research quality.
The two-day event is scheduled as follows:
Day 1 (June 17, 2025)
- Opening remarks by the Dean of FSM, Head of the Department of Chemistry, and the Managing Director of PT Buchi Indonesia.
- Session 1 by Dr. Manish Thakur (Switzerland): Global Trends in Natural Product Research and Collaboration Opportunities.
- Session 2 by Prof. Bambang Cahyono (UNDIP): Complexities in Natural Product Chemistry Education and Research.
- Open discussion and networking to close the first day.
Day 2 (June 18, 2025)
- Hands-on training with Buchi C-950 and C-900 preparative chromatography instruments, including method configuration, automated fraction monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Q&A session and event closing.
This training is expected to serve as a starting point for international research collaborations and joint publications, particularly in the field of active compound separation from natural products.
