Two students from the Chemistry Department of Diponegoro University have been selected to represent the university in the student competition in the field of science, ONMIPA 2023. Muh. Arifin Ilham and Arfazza Zetira achieved high rank in the internal selection held at Diponegoro University on March 4, 2023.
The internal selection was conducted offline and consisted of 25 essay questions that had to be completed within 100 minutes or 2 hours. Registration for this selection was done online and was open to science and technology students who were in their eighth semester or lower.
According to the information obtained, the assessment process and selection criteria were based on the highest score obtained by the five participants with the best scores. Muh. Arifin Ilham and Arfazza Zetira surpassed the other participants and achieved the high rank, giving them the right to represent Diponegoro University in the national-level ONMIPA.
ONMIPA, or National Olympiad of Science for University Students, consists of three stages of selection, namely the University Level, Regional Level, and National Level. The National Level selection will be held for 5 days from June 13-17, 2023, offline at the host university that has yet to be announced.
Muh. Arifin Ilham and Arfazza Zetira are grateful and happy with their results. According to them, their preparation for the ONMIPA selection was not too extensive due to their busy schedule with lectures and assignments. Nevertheless, they managed to achieve the highest rank and represent Diponegoro University in this prestigious competition.
For Muh. Arifin Ilham and Arfazza Zetira, the key to success in this selection was practicing the questions and understanding the basic concepts of chemistry well. They also suggested that prospective ONMIPA participants should pray and maintain a strong mentality before facing the selection. With solid preparation and high spirits, Muh. Arifin Ilham and Arfazza Zetira hope to achieve a proud achievement in the national-level ONMIPA.
